Stupid question... Has the "Big Beav" ever let you down? Or... does the Pope poop or peepee in the woods?? NEGATORY good buds. This last trip was no exception. As the saying goes... "Diana has put away her bosom. Apollo has lifted his skirt. The day has been launched!" (this quote is always relevant)

Markleby and I took our motorbikes down to my cabin last week and pranced majestically -- scratch that -- galloped muscularly through the magical forests of Beaver on our steeds of passion. Their unequivocal glory and indestructible spirits carried our beautiful male bodies up ridges and down drainage's until the stench of our sinew was palpable in the once pristine Beaver mountain air. Our bromantic week has been catalogued in an HD video and a few images (all PG rated) that you can peruse below... please, hold your judgment until the last pixel has fired its rays of goodness upon your filthy eyeballs:

Jon-Paul Lewis (do you guys remember him?) returned to Utah yesterday so I thought the best thing to cure his moving-across-the-country-with-many-problems hangover, would be a nice fat dose of big mountains and old motorcycles.

We went up indian trail head, up the switchbacks to squaw peak road, and turned left on the burly single track that takes you straight up and over lightning ridge.

a couple hundred yards from the top of the ridge, we hit a 50 foot patch of snow that would prove to be impassable on the jane fonda honda's...

snow tripod... just jam your iphone into the snow, hit record, and wahlah!

The life of rugged T90er ain't over when winter hits and the snow covers the trails. We just put our rig in the garage and take cover inside a warm shelter. Here's a list of our indoor winter activities:

We wear sweaters.

We build fires and suck down nog.

We do the slowgrind with our huneys.

We party hard.

And we dream of when we can ride our T90s once again.

When Burgi told me he sold his t-90 to upgrade to a better motorcycle, I thought for sure it would be something bad ass. I was surprised, to say the least, when I finally saw what he got. But you be the judge... is this bad ass, or just plain bad (and i'm not talking the Michael Jackson kind of bad)??

matt g. and I took a good road for a while... then we took a bad road for a while... then we took no road for a while. 60 miles later we are in the middle of nowhere.

this 20th century topo map kept leeping from matt's bag from the very start... no doubt embarrassed by its lack of technology next to our 21st century Garmin Rino's. It felt much more at home with my 20th century bike:

60 miles from anywhere... i sure hope my hog starts up in the morning (dont be fooled, that smile is a smile of grave concern)!
full moon made for a bright night and severe third degree moon burn... woke up in the morning with blue face. I spent the first morning minutes doing some adventure modeling (a hobby of mine) while matt captured some of my work on film:

my hog started up immediately (after a LONG few seconds of concern... my engine switch was in the off position for the first few kicks). however, 20 miles into the return trip, and still forever away from anything, my hog gave up the ghost. i breathed the breath of life back into her with a spark plug transplant. she took the form of a resurrected being and pranced her way back to safety:

Introducing... "A.C. Slater"

Meet my new ride which I have tentatively named A.C. Slater (stands for All Conditions Slater). A.C. Slater has pressured me into renaming my other hog (my 1970 Trail 90) Kelly Kapowski, which is fitting since I always have high wasted jeans and big bangs whenever i get done riding her.

AC was previously owned and operated by a guy named Hans, an old German nazi that reportedly never let AC touch the dirt. Apollo and I devirginized AC in the hills just North of Bayside High School...

We discovered an ancient rope that helped us ascend and descend an old indian peyote trail:

She's back! My blackalicious beauty hit the trails late this fine afternooner. Luckily, I was able to find 12 or so new mountain bike trails. It seems there is more mountain biking here than in Provo. Then again it could just be the air up there. No matter, I stoked anyway because I put a new chain and smaller cog for more speed. Now I just need to get my speedometer working to clock this action.

Night Hoggin

Just a little night bloggin about our night hoggin up the Nob-Gobbler to Make Out Point... where we, of course, made out with one another. We went up Beast, hung a left on Apollo Burgi (the stretch of trail that was named after Burgi for his famous rock-dislodging accident). From there, we revved each others engines up Ireland to Nob-Gobbler until we reached the always anticipated Make Out Point.

I was actually only there in spirit as you can see from the following pictures:

The Squawha (rhymes with baja) 1,000... named aptly for the one thousand tears you will shed. Squaw Peak Road to Hobble Creek and back around. The course includes the treacherous Indian Trail section that took down one of our riders (20% of the group)...
